ServiceNow App Redesign: Case Study

This project was a group project in collaboration with 2 other students from different disciplines at RMIT as part of the RMIT Activator Challenge x Service Now collaboration that I participated in my second year at university.

For this project, my group was assigned with a design problem by ServiceNow client Cenitex to design and create a solution using the ServiceNow program and resources provided to us.

Design Problem:

Using Service Now to allow tracking asset movements to be a more mobile process for Cenitex engineers to receive or move an asset to another location. Our main goal is to design a mobile check-in service to allow Cenitex engineers to easily check-in and update asset information when located at a company warehouse instead of having to bring in a laptop and scanner when needing to update asset information.

Using the Service Now Mobile app as well as the information we had researched, we managed to create a scanning system used to help scan and upload asset data to help quickly upload data and information about the asset status. Along with the scanning feature, we added the ability to edit asset information through the mobile app rather than having to log into a desktop making it a more mobile and simpler process to update information.
